Excavator 180 above and/or below 5 tonnes
The CPCS 180 excavator training course teaches participants how to safely operate a 180° excavator, also known as a backhoe, in construction. A 180° excavator is a versatile machine with a boom that can pivot 180° left to right. It’s used to dig and move materials on construction sites. The course includes theory and practical training and assessment on how to operate the excavator safely. Topics covered include: Safety protocols and regulations Pre-operational checks and maintenance Basic and advanced operating techniques Site management and efficiency Handling and transporting materials To become a qualified 180 excavator operator, you must pass the CPCS theory and practical tests. You must also have passed the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives within the past two years. After passing, you’ll receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card that’s valid for two years. The length of the course depends on the applicant’s experience.
